Paving stone is made for the climate here in Alberta. They are an interlocking product installed on a base that allows for movement and flexes with the natural shifting of the ground during Alberta’s freeze/thaw process. Installed correctly, any shifting that occurs during our cold winters will naturally settle back into place (and a smooth level surface) without adjustments having to be made. Paving stone are unique because unlike concrete they will not crack with frost heave.
Many of the paving stone products provided by HML are locally manufactured. They contain recycled content, are recyclable and have the potential to reduce the heat island effect, which is better for our environment and contributes to natural resource conservation.
